My background
I was born in 1949. I got married in 1980. I have two children: a daughter who graduated from California State University of Long Beach and a son (a sophomore at Caltech - California Institute of Technology) . I also became a grandfather when my daughter gave birth to my grandsons in 2005 and 2007.

* PhD studies: 1980 - 1984, Institute of Fundamental Technological Research of The Polish Academy of Sciences, Warsaw, Poland. Doctor's Thesis "Isothermal and adiabatic acceleration waves in elastic-plastic solids at finite strains" (in Polish), graduated with honor in 1984. Supervisor: Prof. Dr Sci. W.K. Nowacki.
